Our room was quiet and comfortable. Everything worked well and the room layout was well thought out. We enjoyed the snacks and tea that the owners provided in the common room downstairs. The location is very convenient to downtown Anchorage, Alaska Rail Road and the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail. We spoke with Mandy and she was very helpful with local information.

I recently booked the penthouse at Snob Hollow when some friends were visiting, and it was the perfect choice for our long weekend enjoying Anchorage and catching up. Whether just hanging out in the lovely, light-filled living room or getting ready for a day downtown it had everything we needed, and more. We were very happy staying there, the owners were attentive and helpful but never obtrusive, and the location can't be beat. It's a beautiful space and I can't recommend it enough!

I cannot recommend this property enough. Snob Hollow- the historical nickname for the location in Anchorage made sense when I saw the sunrise on Mount Susitna from every window in the living room. My family of 4- two adults, two teenagers- absolutely loved the Tikahtnu Penthouse. It was such a change from cramming four people into a hotel room. Prices in Anchorage are high year-round. This 3-bedroom stay will always be worth the nightly rate. We enjoyed the privacy and location- but it was sitting on the swivel chair with a cup coffee, taking in the view that made me never want to leave. With a washer and dryer, as well as a full kitchen, it will be an easy choice for our next stay.

I stayed at Snob Hollow for 2 nights in late October. I originally had a smaller room, but due to some maintenance they had going on, I was upgraded to the private apartment next door. It was very nice even if much more than I needed. The location is very convenient to downtown and other nearby locations by door. I walked all over the area sightseeing and exploring in a day and a half logging about 15 miles walking.

A very comfortable boutique hotel, located just a few blocks from the downtown area. Very walkable (4 to 5 blocks) from downtown transit bus center, with several restaurants along the way. Only a 5 minute walk to the Alaskan Railroad station, on a well-lit sidewalk, just down the street and around the corner from the inn. A friend I felt very comfortable making this walk in the early morning as well as late at night. The inn must be well insulated as a music fest was going on one night near the inn but could hardly be heard indoors. We stopped by the inn the first day and dropped our luggage off on our way to return the rental that we had. Our luggage was kept safe until our room was ready and upon our return, our bags had been moved into the room. A very clean comfortable room with a communal kitchen stocked with all kinds of packaged snacks, coffee and tea made this a very homey place to stay on our Alaskan adventure! The host, Mandy, is very sweet and gracious, as well.

Snob Hollow Inn is outstanding in every way. The location is absolutely perfect, peaceful yet conveniently close to everything. The rooms are spotless, beautifully maintained, and genuinely comfortable. The entire property feels fresh, welcoming, and impeccably clean. The staff are warm, professional, and genuinely caring. It’s a wonderful place to stay, highly recommended, and I can’t wait to return. Five stars without hesitation.

My wife and I spent 2 weeks at this location the last 2 weeks of September 2025. We have been to Anchorage many times before but never stayed here. As the Mayor’s house building was getting a new roof, we stayed in 2 different rooms in that building. Their newer building next door was fully occupied and this ended up being a fine choice. The hosts were very accommodating and worked with us in our room changes. Our 2 different rooms in the old Mayor’s house were nicely appointed and roofing noise was tolerable. Both Mandy and Holly were very nice and helpful. Anastasiia was attentive and helpful also. Their location just 3 blocks from the Coastal Trail provided a great walking and biking view of the harbor. The main building next door provided small snacks and some fruit available daily. Parking was tight but there were sufficient spaces for guests. Being less than a quarter of a mile away from the Alaskan railway station was a concern initially but ended up as a non problem. The trains only ran 6am until about 10pm, blowing horns only when entering and leaving. Earplugs mitigated any problems. Nice place, nice location, nice people. Highly recommend.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Snob Hollow last week. The room was cute and comfortable. The location was perfect to town and we were able to walk over to 49th for dinner and drinks after checking in. The GM is super kind and responsive too. We will definitely be recommending this place to friends and family.

We flew into Anchorage on our way to Fairbanks via the Aurora Winter Train. I picked this hotel because it was walking distance to the train station and had good reviews. When arriving the host was extremely pleasant and accommodating. She gave us some great recommendations for local dining. Do yourself a favor and book your stay here, you won’t be disappointed.

Excellent location! We walked everywhere including the train station at check out. The room was super clean! The staff were warm and welcoming they even met us upon arrival to ensure we had everything we needed. The room was well thought out with everything we could need and comfortable bed. We loved our stay!
